HISTORY
Trade has been a fundamental component of the family tradition at engelbert strauss for many generations. Direct sales to commercial customers as well as the constant adjustment of the product range are at the forefront of our commercial activities. Greatgrandfather, August Strauss, upheld the merchant tradition and sold regional products, brooms and brushes. His son Engelbert ran the business at the start of the 20th century and saw the constant change and technological progress as an opportunity to cater to customers throughout Germany in an even more targeted manner and quicker with a larger selection of daily work items. Due to increasing standards in the area of work protection, the company also added products such as working shoes, gloves and textile workwear to its product range. With vision and a focus on customer needs, our family business has developed into the leading provider of workwear and work protection in Europe. To this day, the Strauss family leads the company together: Norbert and his wife Gerlinde, together with their sons Steffen and Henning Strauss.
